>>10095639I'm always really keen to read the bible, especially the Old Testament. I love reading Proverbs and Psalms over and over.
I love to contemplate God, I am really interested in the philosophy and theology of Christianity. However, I get entirely put off about the prospect of church, and all the weird traditions that weren't mentioned at all in the Bible.
I find praying really helpful, and even rewarding. Sometimes I get a very overwhelming feeling of calm when I pray, followed by goosebumps.
It's just that I am entirely repelled by some of the cult like ceremonies and traditions. I'm baptised Catholic, but there's so much about Catholicism I do not want to practice.
I was thinking perhaps it's my eternal Anglo side, telling me to be C of E instead of Catholic. The thing is I'm deeply interested in Esoteric Christianity, something mostly every Catholic I've spoken to apart from my girlfriend says is 'heretical'.
The OCD Catholics have about everything being true or purely Christian is ridiculous and closed minded.
I'm so interested in the Old Testament especially, I sometimes feel as if I have a vocation to be a Jew.
