That said, there IS a reason he does this. It's not intuitive, I know. But it does subconsciously persuade your brain to think "young and fit and healthy" more than being a pale old man would. Now you'll disagree, I'm sure. You KNOW, after all, consciously, that he is an old man, he does this intentionally, that he looks ridiculous to some (many?) people. But that doesn't matter. Because the concept still causes it to get its foot in the door of the compartment in your brain that judges virility. And the benefits of that outweigh the negatives behind his enemies screaming "he's ooorange!" constantly. They would never support him anyway. It's persuasion, plain and simple. It works even if you see it coming.
