Romanians have nothing to do with the Romans. Theyre (supposedly) the decendants of the Wallachians, who took on this fake national identity in the 1800s to claim Transylvania.
In the 1600s, half of the Hungarian Kingdom was under Ottoman rule. During this time, because of a dispute between the Habsburg and the Hungarian heir to the throne, Transylvania separated from the rest of the country and became the autonomous Principality of Transylvania.
This Principality was very special. It had two official languages and three nationalities living together, the Hungarian, the Székely (a different tribe of Hungarians who spoke a different dialect) and the German. It was also the first country with freedom of religion, both protestants and catholics were tolerated, and, since many Turks lived there at the time, even muslims.
"Romanians" were so little there at the time, they didnt even form an official nationality, and if they wanted to participate in the parliament, they had to learn either Hungarian or German, and officially take on that nationality.
After Hungary was liberated from the Turks in 1699, the country reunited. However, so many people were killed in the war in the peripheral regions (including Transylvania), the lack of manpower caused a "vacuum", and nationalities started migrating to Hungary.
THAT'S when "Romanians" from Wallachia came to transylvania. Theres a document from the Transylvanian nobles from 1744, where they literally write that the "fertile offspring" of the Vlachs (Wallachians) threatens the three official nationalities.
And they were fucking right. In the late 1800s, Vlachs outweighed Hungarians and Germans in Transylvania, and to claim the territory, Vlach intellectuals spread the theory that they descended from the Romans, taking on the fake national identity Romanian. They were such spineless cunts, they even latinized their language.
Romanians do not belong in Transylvania. They just proliferated there like the parasites they are.
