dont know how they found out about it. didn't really understand what the site was for at first. didn't really care until 2006 when it picked up traffic considerably
internet back in the late 80s/early 90s was an adventure, everything was like exploring a series of islands
geocities, google starting up, shady bbs, obscure forums, knowing protocols
things were hit or miss when it came to finding stuff
also remember dial up was pay by the minute lol
internet doesn't have that same rose tint of my childhood/adolescence but youtube, google, filesharing and the like are just too good to ever go back on
