- 4-6 boneless pork chops
- 1 tbsp kosher salt
- 2 tbsp paprika
- 2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2-3 tbsp olive oil
Not a whole lot here but some dry spices you likely have in your pantry!

I went with sea salt even though the recipe called for kosher.
It came out fine.
It didn't go bad. I didn't reshoot this three times.
It's fine.

Continuing the pattern of throwing stuff in a bowl...
It's time for the brown sugar and the pepper!
If you want a bit of a sweeter taste, I would recommend bumping up the amount of brown sugar you use.
It will balance out the heat nicely.

Garlic and onion are always a fan favorite for me, and also they work well with pork!
The cayenne pepper is there to add a bit of heat to the dish, and boy does it do it's job! I added a little too much....

Now it's time to give that pork a good rub down! Rub the spices all over the chops, making sure to get in all the nooks and crannies!
You can sprinkle a little bit of salt on the chops about 30 minutes before you give them a rub down if you want a little more flavor.
I didn't do that and they turned out really good!

Well Anonymous, I hope you like my new pan. Here's me putting oil in it!
I went with Olive oil because I liked the taste more, but if you're worried about the smoking point, you can always use canola.
Place the chops in the pan when the oil begins to shimmer. Sear them for approximately 2-3 minutes on that side.

Good luck!

So now, we are going to flip our chops!
Flip them and COVER them in the skillet and turn the heat down to low.
This will create a wonderful crust on that side to match the sear on top, and also allow the chops to cook completely!
Keep them covered for about 6-12 minutes, checking at the 6 minute mark to see if they are at 145.
If they are not, check them every 2 minutes or so with a meat thermometer.
