>>10344034I have a few variants based on what I'm feeling that day.
1. Two wedges of a clementine orange, peychauds bitters, 2 shots of bourbon (EW 1783 currently). Muddle the oranges, add a luxardo cherry and stir. Grab however much ice you want, add that and stir.
2. Angostura Orange bitters + angostura classic bitters + a dash of sugar. Muddle that then add 2 shots of bourbon and the cherry. Stir that a bit then add ice to preference.
3. Peychauds bitters + dash of sugar and muddle. 2 shots of bourbon and make an orange peel twist to rim the glass then add to the drink. Add the luxardo cherry and stir, then add ice.
Luxardo cherries have a very thick syrup that does not want to mix into the drink when its already iced, so I always do that step prior to chilling.
Good bourbons to use will be in the $20-$30 range. Examples: EW 1783, Bulleit, Makers, 4 Roses, elijah craig, Eagle Rare if you can find it.
