I met my current girlfriend on tinder, we matched & she told me she was a virgin & asked if we could have sex (true story, I'm good looking). I had had 5 or 6 relationships before this but never with a virgin who I tried to avoid, but I was bored & kinda depressed so I figured "why not?" Now we're living together & she is incredibly clingy & needy, & I'm a little afraid she might try and do some psycho revenge type stuff if we ever break up. I haven't really tried because the company is sometimes nice during the pandemic & I'm still kinda depressed. But I understand now why incel losers are obsessed with virgins. Pair-bonding is real, as you say, & if you're a very low quality person it might be your only shot at getting a mate to stick around.
It seems to be similar to how baby animals imprint on their mothers; very hindbrain monkey-mind type of stuff. This isn't "love," or if it is it's something that's also experienced by chickens. This is politics because "sexual politics" is a phrase I saw someone use once.
