>Košice>Prešov>Spišsky Hrad>Vlkolínec>TrenčínWith that in mind, I personally perceive Slovakia as geographically beautiful, excellent people (aside from Gypsies which are a legitimate issue), and a complex recent history with Hungary, Czechoslovakia, and the Slovak Republic (1939-1945). The East of Slovakia is definitely the best part and although the architecture of your most beautiful cities (Košice and Prešov) is clearly Hungarian - the language and culture is more like Czechs and to a lesser extent Poles, Ukrainians, Rusyns).
For broader Canadian (and American society) the unfortunate depiction of Slovakia is a desolate Bratislava from a Teenage film called "Eurotrip"
