Is there a way to extract and insert text from an xml file and ignore tags? I'm trying to machine translate a gamu but it messes with the tags.

Uhhh off the top of my head maybe you could convert it from xml to some other format, make your changes and then convert it back to xml
Like convert it to CSV, then open it in a spreadsheet program and do a search/replace only in the column with the values in it. Then convert back to XML
