>>10503915Gauls were celtic peoples, yes, but they were not, and have never been meaningfully defined as "celts" over "gauls", or anything else. The term celtic, much like the term slavic, means people speaking the celtic/slavic language. The romans saw them(the celtic gauls) as gauls, a unique tribal identity distinguished from other tribal identities, some of which were also celtic tribes. Celtic peoples were not "one" people during roman imperial times, they were many distinct tribal identities and languages.
Lots of gauls were contributing to the greatness of the roman empire, though. Good for them. Not sure what else to say about that. If you need to identify with the great historical deeds of your distant ancestors and pretend like they somehow correlate to your current accomplishments, or - even worse - define yourself entirely by the great deeds of other men who most likely would have laughed at you and considered you a quasi-man barely even worthy of being fodder for gladiatorial lions... well.

Which was fine, since they had superior memories and could recollect greater stores of meaningful information. Ancient greek philosophers were sceptical of writing, knowing that it would decrease our ability to hold dialogues and remember them.
>obliviously, thats just shitposting1x large cope consumed. All european myths, all european peoples, all european languages, all european cultures have one, common origin: the aryan legacy, the earliest known documentation of which is the body of vedic myth and philosophy. Oh, and they all had blonde hair and blue eyes.
