I feel like this is the only sub I can post this in, considering that alot of the pedophilia targets girls, and also lots of people defend it in anime.

So anyway, I wanted to rant. I don't know how many of you watch anime. But I HATE finding a decent anime and it gets ruined with pedophilia.

For example, I had discovered JJBA(JoJo's bizarre aventure) sometime ago(I lost interest overtime) and while it does have some misogyny, I was very disappointed that in the 3rd arc, there is a semi nude scene with young female. Her age is never given, but it is emphasized in the story that she is a kid. There was alot more fanservice in the anime, the scene in the manga was alot more tame. It's annoying seeing the fans make gross jokes about it. Supposedly she's 12 and the main character is 17, and people are literally defending a shipping them because 12 isn't far off from 17(wtf?!). A 17 year old has no business with a 12 year old. There's another scene, but with genders reversed.

Another issue I have with the series is that in part 4, one the bad guys suddenly turns good for no reason other than development despite attempting to rape a girl.

Another anime that bothers me is Free! The show came back with even YOUNGER characters. It's just terrible!

I hate how lolicon is constantly joked about.

Also, it pisses me off when weebs defend anime pedophilia because it's "Japanese culture". The main excuse that's used though is the whole "the age of consent is 12 in Japan".

I actually did research on age of consent in Japan, I found that Japanese people generally look down on wide age gaps between young people. It's more accepted to marry or date in young adulthood. Also the age of consent being 12 is a legal misunderstanding.
