The further to the right you lean, the further to the left a broad-spectrum broadcaster appears to be. And vice versa. When you're far enough to one side, everything else is bound to look biased.
It scares me to a certain extent that people want to silence any news source, simply on the grounds that it occasionally, or even generally, disagrees with their worldview / political opinion. If you identify with any major party in Canada; you're probably going to be (at least partially) disagreeing with others' political opinions 60-80% of the time. When you toe a line that is hard on the edge of the spectrum, you're going to find that number goes up to 90-95% of the time.
When you translate that to a public broadcaster that does a reasonably good job of representing the rest of the spectrum, it's no surprise that people feel CBC is inherently biased against their worldview. And, since the majority of those calling for defunding are right-to-far right, the bias appears to be to the left.
