Previously this week we had talked about me staying for the party which all my bros are going to but i decided i didnt want to because no money, and i didnt really feel like drinking.
I told gf that i didnt want to go the party and i would go home.

Because of this my gf now feels she has the right to be angry at me for betraying out agreement that i wouldn't go partying
To some extent i understand why she is concerned or scared. But on the other hand.. I rarely go out and drink, like 3 times this year. Not because gf wont let me, but i just don't like it.

She doesn't trust you and has good reason for it. You need to understand the gravity of what you did and if you intend to keep the relationship you need to rebuild that trust. It takes time.

I understand anon and agree. I fucked up but that was a 1.5 year ago. I thought we were over it, she was sore for a while but as time progressed she got better. I did make an effort for her to trust me again

It takes longer than that.

It leaves an indelible stain on a relationship but if it's a relationship you both want and if you both love each other you can work around it.

Ultimately you need to love each other to make this work long term. If you don't want to marry this woman I would cut it off sooner than later, because unless you go all the way it's just going to go back to the trust issue and the cheating every time.

For most girls, yeah, cheating is a good way to ensure they will never trust you again. I mean most will stay out of comfort, love and/or dependence but they won't ever really trust you no matter how many years go by. Yeah, the whole "once a cheater, always a cheater" mindset is long lasting. If you wanna make it last your best bet is to kiss her ass and avoid doing things that make her feel uncomfortable. Either that or break it off and start anew. You're lucky she's giving you a second chance and if it's too much of a burden for you to deal with her reasonable insecurities at this point then you may just want to end it. Not trying to be mean, it's just that sometimes when this shit happens (and I have been in the same position so I get it) it's just easier to find a new girl and start over again.
