Why do Americans love France so much?
I'd say Paris specifically because its the only city in France they know by name, But American tourists are obsessed with going to France.

My ex-girlfriend worked for United and she was obsessed with getting me to go to Paris with her for the new year. Fucking Paris. Like I'm made of money that I can just whisk of to Paris on a whim.
Italy is the other country I hear about. But there are actual things people like about Italy. Like the canals. The Catholics. Its literally a fucking boot. Ok I get it, I get Italy.
But why is France THE tourist destination for every goddamn person in California?
