Pill-popping partygoers will be denied their fix when the Ibiza scene reopens this summer after National Police and Guardia Civil took a haul of 100,000 ecstasy tablets in raids in Badalona, Sabadell and El Pla del Penedès just outside Barcelona.

Five people were arrested in the operation to bring down the Barcelona-based drug trafficking ring. Officers also confiscated 16kg of marihuana, 71kg of hashish, 1kg of ketamine, 6kg of crystal meth, a gun, four luxury cars and €150,000 in cash.
