>>10593334Short version, Jomon were basically animist stone age people, who were making rough cloth, using animal hides, creating stone burial mounds, and making clay pottery.
Yayoi was the result of interbreeding and trade between a Jomon population in Kyushu and Korean populations, blending the cultures. They brought with them wet rice agriculture, meaning the Yayoi on Kyushu could become more agrarian and had more time to focus on improving things. Animism became more like appeasement of genius loci. Bronze was more common for Yayoi, including religious artefacts like bells and even bronze armour, while they were slowly advancing into the Iron Age during the successful spread of their culture through Honshu.
