The 40% figure is suicide attempt rates for the US from about 10 years ago.
For the UK in 2018, the suicide attempt rate was only 5%. Which is also the same as in the US for trans people with supportive families.
Also interesting to note, is the FtM trannies have a significantly higher suicide rate than MtF trannies.
