I finally found my dream apartment, but the main problem I have with it is that it's Chinese owned. The rent is almost $2200/month and I really don't want any portion of that paying for any Chinese investment tax or have the possibility of the Chinese building manager to come into my apartment at any time. There's an option to buy within the building but that's way more expensive and I don't know if I'll be living here in 5+ years. Another problem with buying is that the property manager is also on the board of the building, it seems like thmarity of the board are also Chinese nationals which if I did buy and worst comes to worst they could potentially kill me in association fees. What do I do? Am I being responsible?
