>>10691190 Well, it is actually a rather difficult question to answer, I am afraid. I have heard of the American approach of meds being the go-to solution for everything, but I completely support your w8sh of not going to them straight off tue bat. If you go to a shrink and he takes out his prescription papers on any meeting before like the 20th,then drop him and look for a new one.
Any decent psychologist will make you uncomfortable. If you go to a meeting and don't feel anxiety or dread beforehand - drop it, since that ain't working. It has to be uncomfortable.
That said, if it is uncomfortable for the sake of just being a pain, then it is not good either. A safe bet is to test the waters with someone for like 4-5 meetings. If you still feel uncomfortable, but begin to also start seeing certain concepts, problems or ailments differently, then you might have found your guy or gal for that matter.
Also, look at what school of thought the practitioner ascribes himself. Psychoanalysts are gay and wrong, since they are closely tied to Freudian paychology, which although has heen influencial in the field historically, has absoluteoy 0 scientific backing in research. So you know, it is the same as going to fortune teller. She might actually guess correctly, but if she does it is a fucking coincidence.
Sorry for any typos, anonbro, but I'm on my smartphone.
