Talk to them about this issue. Tell them that you do not wish to completely sever your ties with them. Ask them to understand that you are an adult now and that you cannot afford to be on your phone all the time. I believe that discussion should be the first approach anybody should take. If they do not listen to reason then you can try other methods afterward.

maybe spend some time with them every once in a while. they are ur parents after all. idk how ur parents are like. my parents are a mess. but maybe have a day in a month or every now and then do something with them. they have strong attatchment to you since they birthed you and helped you from year 0.

He wasn’t trying to play mind games with you he was saying that because he loves you and is afraid that once you got of their house doorstep you’ll disappear forever.
Try keeping contacts with them, maybe call them once every two months or something like that, ask them what up and tell them what you accomplished in the meantime.
If you don’t like to talk about your issues with them find a therapist, there is nothing wrong in talking to one for guidance on such things.
