I stared into that incandescence only so that I might blind myself to the wickedness of my surroundings. Only to find that being blind to the corruption of beauty, made me just as blind to the very beauty that I had glanced at with envy from the start. I think it's like that with everyone in a way. We find a thing that makes us feel okay with ourselves, only to focus on it with such intent that it ends up corrupting our perspective of the matter, and in turn blinding us to both the good and the bad. The sun is the giver of life and the reason we are here, but if you look too long on it then it will take away your ability to see any beauty at all.
