I think aliens have turned the Earth into some virtual reality MMO and enslaved humans as NPCs and created and tricked a bunch of robots into thinking they're the players of the game who rule over the NPC humans and pilot a giant colossal moving mecha skyscraper to kill giant monsters on earth to harvest resources.
Also the robots manifest as fleshy human-like avatars to interact with the humans and fight the monsters or some shit.
And the main character is a human girl who is a glitch in the system and shouldn't exist.
