If this is your first run the best advice I can give you is to rush rush rush rush the missions no matter the cost, use memory rep and do them all, occasionally you'll restart from day 1 a few times
Best supression is Hod, she's gonna help you a lot and it's also annoyin af so if you feel overwhelmed you should memo rep or start again then rush her department to do it with a few abnos

It's a game mechanic to make the game challenging, after some days the Ordeals will get harder, it's also explained in the lore
I think when you succesfully pass a day the "Qliphoth Deterrence" term appears on screen, it will be explained later in the lore as well
