>>10777459>2 Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. How would you know? It's just something some men wrote. They could have been lying for all you know.
>By your logic, you could be lying. Because men lie.No, because I haven't presumed to speak for God. The only thing I've said is that personal revelation is the only way to know God. Everything I say is backed up by logic and reason, not by pretending to speak the words of God.
>But no here is the situation. I was speaking with someone on an imageboard similar to this one. This spirit "revealed" something about this person I was speaking with. But later it was revealed to me that this person on the imageboard had actually made up the whole story and none of it was true. So this spirit had lied to me, and God cannot lie.No, this makes no sense. Because we must assume God doesn't let lesser spirits claim to be him. If God doesn't let lesser spirits claim to be him, we can trust personal revelation, but we cannot trust other people to convey revelation.
If God allows lesser spirits to claim to be him, we can trust neither personal revelation or other people conveying revelation. If God allows lesser spirits to claim to be him, then there would be no way for anyone to know if he was dealing with the Highest God or a lesser spirit. The lowest of the low spirit is still greater than the greatest of the great man and can affect effects in this world. That is to say, if God lets lesser spirits claim to be him, how could Jesus know he was dealing with the Highest God and not some lesser spirit? He couldn't.
So you see, this is an irreducible dilemma. The only way we can assume anyone could get any revelation from the Highest God at all is if God doesn't let spirits claim his authority.
