Actually.... I guess that kinda makes sense since traditional Sunni Islam is really strict about marrying Kafirs. Not sure if it's different for other sects, maybe Alawites don't care about mixed faith marriages too since they allow the consumption of alcohol so long as it isn't during Ramadan or whatever.
