After a bit, a stairway heading into the clouds appears before them. The second zebra proceeds up the stairs where he comes face to face with God. The zebra asks “ok, so are we black with white stripes or white with black stripes?”. God simply replies “you are what you are”. The zebra returns from the clouds and says to the first zebra “ok, we’re white with black stripes”. The first zebra inquires “how do you know? what did God say?”. The second zebra replies “he said you are what you are. if we were black with white stripes, he would’ve said you is what you is”.
