This is nonsense catholics cooked up. If you read the Bible, Joseph and Mary had children, because Jesus had siblings and interacted with them on more than one occasion. Of course, catholics will try and dismiss this by saying Joseph was married before, but I'll simplfy this with a little movie quote:

If she had blood related offspring (not Joseph's from his prior marriage), why wouldn't they just look after her instead of one of her son's friends?
