>>10883211I'm on DLA (Disability Living Allowance) and PIP (Personal Independence Payment). I've been on DLA since 2017, and PIP since the beginning of last year. The thing that got me put in the "lost cause" category where I don't have to keep checking in and proving I'm "disabled" is when one of their medical staff noticed a psychologist had diagnosed me with tourettes.
The tourettes doesn't even bother me that much on its own, but it exacerbates panic attacks. Since I reacted negatively to psych meds I was put on, I get panic attacks a lot if I go out in public. I never used to get them before but I can hardly leave the house for more than half an hour without getting one, and the possibility that I might shout out some social faux pas is one of the triggers. Another one is feeling any abdominal discomfort and thinking I suddenly need a massive shit when there aren't any nearby toilets. I hardly ever actually need a shit, but the feeling of being exposed and unable to do so if I did is very disconcerting.
