Does /bant/ have the potential to be like old /pol/? It seems like nu/pol/ is flooded with shills and bans people for organizing any sort of real world hijink. Could this be the safe haven of the alt-right?

Couple things chief. When you refer to "old /pol/" are you referring to pre-election /pol/ or /new/? Because /bant/ is predominantly a bunch of commies so there's not a lot of a chance at it becoming like pre-election /pol/ and they're nowhere near articulated enough to be /new/ where we actually had discussion on political ideologies based on more than race.
So to answer your question yes, no, maybe and shut the fuck up leave /pol/ in /trash/.

Just find any more obscure /pol/ board, the quality is higher more or less automatically due to lower post rate and not being heavily targeted by shills. /bant/ is a comfy autism board about nothing in particular.

Most of the shills will probably scatter after the election having realised their 4 year long campaign was for nought, some will double-down. But when you think about it, /pol/ could easily turn this board into a colony if it wanted to. The /bant/ userbase is too small for there to be any meaningful pushback against a concerted effort in raiding it by them. Would still miss it if this ever happened though. It's an autist containment board and cumdumpster for every other board on this site, but it still has some value in being /s4s/ but with flags and IDs.
