I have been thinking about starting my own minecraft server for sometime now. Following the demise of current /bant/craft I feel like this is an appropriate time to gather some opinions and see if people would be interested in my server idea.
Basically, I intend on starting an intergalactic modded minecraft server focused on the mod WarpDrive. What this mod allows us to do is set up a universe where you can build custom space ships and travel from dimension to dimension. Using dimensions from existing mods and mod creators, I can custom make pretty much any planet or world you wish for me to make. Some worlds can even be custom made using world painter. In short we can have a massive world (universe) that could in theory be one of the largest minecraft servers ever made.

Granted that many empty chunks are bound to exist as the server ages in space. I can simply delete them since it not really going to be noticeable.

Don't get me wrong though OP, you have a brilliant idea if you're willing to go through all that work. I definitely think it would be interesting, but you'd obviously have to worry about player numbers if you want something on a scale like this.

My biggest concern is playercount. Which is why I am asking if there is any interest at all and to possibly generate hype.
I am contemplating about ways to circumvent low player counts like using some sort of NPC mod. As well as looking for a way to keep possible players hooked by allowing people to design planets for the server.

I really dig this idea. I mean there are a lot of awesome servers on Minecarft, I think that's why you can't really get bored of it and it's so addictive. Like you always can find something new, and it passed the test of time, so it's still super relevant to a few generations. I love everything about it and my 5 year old son is just as into it and it's so cute to see. We just bought some resource packs from here

So that more people would come in and help us out. I think it would be a lot more interesting. If you're for it, answer it, and it will be easier for you to do all this.
