he is lazy, not great at game development, and unfathomably whiny. all the game assets are lightly edited unity store assets, the game struggles to get 30 fps on very good setups despite low graphical fidelity as well as going months without significant updates despite yandere dev living with the patreon money as his sole income, and the man is notorious for treating everyone horribly all the time. he responds to any and all criticism by banning/blocking people if he can and hurling verbal abuse at them if he can't. he even has a bunch of FAQs addressing criticisms such as him being a bad developer or spending patreon money frivolously with detailed counterarguments such as "this is false."
of course this sort of behavior has only lead to people absolutely taking the piss out of him at every single opportunity. naturally this only makes him more hostile which makes people find more inventive and grandiose ways to take the piss.
this is all pretty old news since the game's been in development 6 years now but it's all had a pretty big surge in popularity. some other random person realized that the game is developing at an absolutely glacial pace, it's made from unity store assets, and there's no copyright registered so they can just make the game themselves from scratch. they've been posting update videos and whatnot which seem to show him catching up to what the original game looks like pretty quick despite less than a month of work presumably not full time. of course this has sent yandere dev into a complete spiral which has only strengthened the cycle of angering him more
it sounds quite mean, but the more you look into it the more he genuinely deserves the scenario rather than just looking bad from lashing out and mountains of hate.
