I absolutely adore the brand of feeling Lain gives. It's a feeling that is rarely touched upon. A feeling from a dead era. Yoko Taro may have brought it back to style, but I have seen nor heard of any titles since Automata that have that feeling. You can usually tell from a distance whether or not something will have the feeling. I could tell for Automata a year before I played it looking at the names of the soundtracks. It's a feeling you had to experience things in a specific way at a specific time to really get, from what I can tell. I miss it already. My favorite feeling.
