Nazism is popular in Heavy Metal BECAUSE it's taboo and because it has a machismo quality... the whole goddamn point of Heavy Metal is it's the direct descendant of Rock'n'Roll, it's not about staying withing the politically correct box. It's about being different! It's about rebellion! IT'S ESCAPISM! that's why half the bands sing about dragons and magic spells, because it's not about the politically correct safe box that no one is ever allowed to escape from. Heavy metal is about flaunting those parameters; that's why it's loud for god sake!
