Why would you waste resources on these? They give the operator zero protection and serve no purpose but to fire two chain guns.
Why wouldn’t you just mount the chain guns to a permanent fixture? You could have somebody there, behind some armor plating, targeting and firing the fixed guns.
Not only does this give the human protection but it also opens the possibility of having larger ammunition hoppers at each turret.
One of the more glaring problems with reloading the mech mounted guns. It took specialized equipment and required a distance to be traveled to reload.
You could have a very large ammo feeding system installed along the mounted turret that you could potentially store enough ammunition in to keep the gun firing significantly longer.
