What does /pol/ think of eco-feminism?
Eco-feminism is the idea that the oppression of women and the destruction of the natural environment are inseparably linked. Nature is seen as disgusting because it is 'feminine' (chaotic and irrational; in need of patriarchal order); women are seen as disgusting because they are more connected to nature through menstruation, breastfeeding, maternity, and their greater spirituality and emotionality. The environment can only be saved by women, because women have been spared male socialisation which severs the primitive emotional connection with nature in favour of 'reason'.
Feminism and ecology are therefore part of one and the same battle.
