Real, genetic autism is passed down from Neanderthals, making today's people, who posses these genes (which are responsible for the existence of spectrum) to be neuro-diverse and labeled as "autistic" or suffering from "Asperger syndrome".

It's almost as if this was by design, considering the fact it causes increased IQ at the price of significantly decreased social skills. It's as if somebody was experimenting or deliberately creating this effect. Why?
