Above all he pretty badly abused. He was suffering from malnutrition, isolation, and extreme mental illness, he clearly needed help and no one bothered. He killed children rather than adults because he felt he'd been killed as a child by society, or at least that is the message I think he was trying to send. It's stupid how people struggle with a motive, kid was deranged should have been in a padded room a long time ago.
