Depends on where you go. Buenos Aires gets a lot of tourists, so they are used to speaking in English. You might not be as lucky in other places. Needless to say, if your intent is to stay here, I recommend learning Spanish as soon as possible.
That being said, let me tell you that living here is a terrible idea. No, terrible is a understatement.
