>>1109710the most important thing for me was to remember that we cant control our thoughts or physical sensations due to it, but we can change entirely how we act based off of them, and change how much heed we pay to them. and doing that does tend to slowly start feeding back and then you start getting them less. i still get loads of anxious thoughts but it has very little affect on my behavior.
also when i said seeing a doctor is useless, i was mostly just talking about a standard doctor or a psychiatrist, a therapist who does ACT or CBT can be very helpful if you mesh with them well. however they will probably just tell you pretty much what I did or what you can find on the internet, but it helps a lot to have someone say it in your face over and over again and slowly try introducing the concepts into your brain. cause knowing how to get over anxiety is about 100x easier than getting over it.
but acknowledging the need for improvement and keeping it in mind and working towards it is definitely the key, of my net friends with it, the half that never really did put effort into going out more and instead decided that staying inside and avoiding people made them happy and was better for them have become total hikikomori and only leave the house when they run out of food.
good luck and keep at it! accepting invitations is a great way to socialize more, cause then you get sort of pressured into going through if you say you will. idk about you but i always get out of that sort of thing at the last minute unless i tell someone else i was planning on going out.
