i don't know what it's censored in that image but not this one
>>11087690i think it really just does come down to him thinking that i'm gonna fall behind and/or miss assignments because of this and he either has reasons to be really worried about the grades his students get or he's convinced i'll be mad at him that i fell behind (which i won't)
word. it might not be as easy to do in this case but i remember in my CS classes i pretty much only answered/asked questions if i could contradict or expand on something some smug boomer said.
it's the mentality that gets on my nerves more than anything else. you lose the right to show off your knowledge from working in military IT for 5 years when you have the same grades as people who are being exposed to this material for the first time. nobody cares if you can ask a basic question about a concept from 2 classes down the line when you can't complete THIS class's homework assignment.
i know i'm just petty but there really was no greater joy than hearing some guy go "oh we're learning about X today? you can apply that to Y topic much later right?" only for me to follow up immediately with "surely that'd be pretty inefficient/impractical and it would be better to use Z instead if you were doing Y" and have the professor agree that i'm right. i know it makes me look like a bit of a dick as well but seeing them deflate is well worth it
>>11087854well for the same reason it costs $3000/semester to study in the first place i'd imagine. even before pirating was an option it was very common for books to release a new edition every year with the only revisions being to practice problems so that students had to buy new copies instead of used ones that will have the wrong problems
