>>1109702Do you believe in freedom of speech/ideas
do you believe that people should be able to have differing viewpoints, and should be able to criticize their own government when it deserves it?
Do you believe that someone who works harder should receive more in return?
In addition, do you believe that when someone needs help, they should receive it?
Do you believe that healthcare should be provided to people?
do you believe that a safety net should exist so that the weak or ill don't simply die off?
Then you're not a communist, but you might be a socialist. Which isn't that out there, America is a capitalist country but it has a lot of socialism, things like healthcare, schools, roads, firefighters, police, etc. are all socialized.
Thinking you should help those in need doesn't make you a communist. Communists believe that everyone should be equal no matter what they do, someone who works harder doesn't deserve more, for example. Communists also believe that everyone should think the same and support the communist agenda (cultural communism), this is necessary to a communist ideal set because the only way to establish and maintain a communist state is to get rid of all who would oppose it. (see the history of every communist state ever for details)
you're probably not a communist because you probably don't understand the full scope of what communism is, you probably just think we should help those in need.
