I grew up in a mostly black neighborhood as a poor white kid. You knew never to walk alone outside even in the day or you'd get jumped. We always said "it's just how it is when you're poor" - even though it was always blacks doing the robbing.
You get harassed by blacks here and there but you just think "man I wonder what they've experienced at the hands of whites to feel that way"
My dad always openly said "nigger" and always told me to never trust them, they're animals. We had a rental property one time in the blackest part of town. My stepdad collected rent from them for about six months until they started missing rent. They let them go for five months without paying before even beginning the eviction process. When they were finally out the niggers had destroyed the house. My parents let the house go into foreclosure.
All this time and I never once thought maybe blacks are the problem.
Fast forward to a year ago. I am not rich by any means but I do well. I have four kids who I've taught from day one to never judge someone by race. I have a nice house, secluded in the woods, nice car which I paid too much for but hey its nice. Wake up one morning and cars gone. Stolen by a black dude in the middle of the night. He had grabbed a bus to my town, robbed a few cars and houses, stolen someone's junker, chased by police, car broke down, ditched the car, ran two miles thru the woods and came to my house, stole my vehicle, hocked everything of value inside. Trashed the car and poured motor oil on the seats. They finally caught him and found the car. I paid out if pocket to get my car out of impound. He had done this three times before. He got one month probation. I never got a penny back.
