>>11180557In all honesty, if we consider the geographic situation of Spain (in the middle of the Atlantic, guarding one of the 2 entrances to the Mediterranean) and the fact that our language is going to be #2 in number of native speakers worldwide (but much more widespread geographically than Chinese), and also the fact that this language is piss-easy to learn, it makes sense that the next great international power could be either this nation or one that speaks this language.
Of course those are just factors that would make it work better but the most important ones; a free and prosperous economy, enforcement of property rights, a success-oriented culture etc etc we are completely lacking. We are pretty much enslaved to the EU. They bribe our politicians under the guise of subsidies to dismantle our industries through regulation.
