This housing bubble isn't banks lending money into existence to subprime people. Its inflation.

Yes, you buy a house with fiat currency which declines in value, and hope you buy a good house at a good value and the price of the house increases. You pay property tax the whole time, and insurance, and repairs, but you get to write off some of the expenses, including some of the mortgage. But, considering the actual value of the house vs. the price paid (which includes mortgage, insurance, repairs), even if the price of the house goes up, did you make any money as compared to renting?

I ask because I save a shit ton of money renting a nice place, way more than the increase if paper price of my co-worker who bought?
