by grandparents were communists (as was everyone during communism)
after the fall there was a revival of the church, people started marrying again etc
me and my siblings were baptized. we also attended some easters (the main time orthodox actually go to church)
i have a vague memory of receiving communion (tho i don't remember ever going to confession)
my father was kinda close to the local priest (did some work for the church let's say), so i got to hang out in the church a little. the priest was a really cool guy, he played video games (FPS / don't remember names sadly)
i also took some "religion classes" early on in highschool, but was signed off since i was "taking things too literally", meaning when the other teaches would ask me, say, "why are there rare minerals in the mountains, and not in the plains" i'd say smth like "because god made it so", which isn't the answer those teachers were looking for
but at that time i was very young, i didn't even know other religions existed
later i lived in other cities (and UK), and started reading more about other religions
islam, masons, protestants, etc
i don't really like their teachings tho
but i still have some respect for christianity
i will most likely marry in a christian church one day and baptize my kids too
(orthodox prob better since the sacraments are recognized by the catholics, but not the other way around)
as to why i consider myself agnostic, it's because the way i see it, we are not all knowing, we do not possess absolute knowledge, we do not know what we do not know
i cannot with an honest heart say that god is one, or that god is 3 persons, or that god is not named "Zeus", or that god is not a she, etc
basically i have no real problem with "deism" but i do not subscribe to "revealed religions"
i do not think that the orthodox "marriage is allowed 3 times" is biblical, it should be however many
and the "holy fire" is also a scam they used to pull for a long time
