You may say they should have used protection/ birth control but what they could have done in the past isn't relevant to the present and no birth control is 100% foolproof anyway (there are huge legal obstacles in the way of women even getting their tubes tied ). Abortion doesn’t kill babies. According to The Guttmacher Institute, two thirds of abortions occur by or before 8 weeks ( before 8 weeks, it is medically an embryo, not even a fetus yet) and 88% by or before 12 weeks. There’s no logical reason for women who don’t want to be pregnant to wait too very long before aborting unless there's a serious deformity or health risk that isn't made apparent until later. The idea that abortions regularly kill fully formed babies is simply untrue. A fully formed baby doesn’t magically appear the moment that sperm meets an egg ( unless you think its death when the blastocyst fails to implant, that miscarriages should be investigated like murder scenes and both incidents deserve life insurance payouts). Abortion doesn’t kill babies, it prevents babies from forming. You can't kill a fetus that literally cannot breathe on its own and cannot survive outside the womb, terminating non viable embryos and fetuses is not murder. You can talk all you want about it destroying “a potential life,” but the hypothetical future, like past choices, is not relevant. Only the present reality is relevant. Plus that’s admitting its life is only potential, not already existing and honestly if you’re that hung up on “potential,” any sex without the purpose of procreation would be ruining potential life too according to that logic. “Unique DNA” doesn’t matter either when it isn’t truly alive, wanted and doesn't have any awareness of itself (oh yeah and literally every egg and sperm have unique DNA, but they aren't considered a unique life form unless you're so insane you think masturbation is murder too because it ruins the potential of "unique DNA" aka sperm).
