once upon a time there was a man who worked very hard but still only ever experience failure, he got very frustated and went into self exile where he moped endlessly, he met some hermit who he shared his struggles with, the little man told him to takee a bamboo sapling and grow it, to water it and what not, and that along with that he should continue his efforts and when the time was right both would grow, but to never stop until then,so he did, and for the first year there was no growth at all, the sapling hadnt grown an inch much to his dismay, so he continued on to the 2nd, no growth at all, yet determined he pressed on with his work, to the eventless 3rd, caring for the little plant and working hard, yet still nothing by the 4th, nearing giving up he continued, and sometime during the 5th year he had finally made progress, his work was showing results after as for the plant it remained a sapling, yet not too long it sprouted growing an enormous amount in a few weeks, for you see while there was no visible growth in the first 5 years it was growing its roots underground, a strong support so when it could grow it could grow to amazing hieghts, such as the man, who while initially his hard work only showed failure, continued to grow internally despite that, and when his time came he would see success
this is the story of the chinese bamboo tree, it takes years to grow, showing no signs until its grows expointially after 5ish years, akin to a persons hard work for their goals
