>>11387191Everything on 23 and me has changed through the years, as a look at what they NOW say about origins has changed immensely.
Additionally, I just saw that they are pushing my maternal line to what looks like Chinese or Asian optics, despite European origins...which is almost fully from France and Basque, on both sides of her family.
IDK what to think about any of these 'new' narratives. It's almost as if I am a completely different person than I was a number of years ago. I'll need time to look through it all.
Strange.
>paternal haplogroup is R-Z11>maternal haplogroup is U5b1cWhat's really interesting, is that one of my paternal lines does go back directly to Charlemagne, another back to Gibby wi' the Golden Garters, although as far as our family knows, we are of Plantegenet origin, specifically as it relates to the House of Stuart, with a bit known back to Joan Beaufort.
That said, it might explain why Geoffrey Chaucer's "Canterbury Tales" intrigued me so from childhood; he would be an uncle. No wonder why The Knights Tale is one of my favorite movies. lol.
▪My dad liked to add that oral history seems to indicate we have Native American and African blood...which we finally found totally expressed in my sister's genetics.
>Why did you ask, specifically?I thought I was ancient Scot-English blood, possibly descended from a Viking Sheild-Maiden, even as my surname proposes.
▪Alas...I am NOT SURE. lol
