Dialation is a condition that is experienced by an outside observer as a slowing of time. Historically, it was thought to only be measurable in circumstances where relativistic factors were no longer negligible. As our understanding of the nature of reality has broadened and deepened, it has become apparent that dialation can also occur in other scenarios not classicly recognized as surpassing the requisite relativistic thresholds.
