Anybody here actually learned Japanese? I have to choose a new language for the university, and I'm leaning towards Japanese

German is formally very logical and very organized language, however the more geographically South you go the more quirky everyday proverbs and sayings you will encounter.
Go for Hochdeutsch at first.

It should be much easier to get a grasp of it and understanding it but grammar is bad. Foreigners who speak German with good grammar are an anomaly. It just sounds so weird because most foreigners (even some who were born here) can't speak good german. It's an useless language for you to learn though
